PMP History
In 2004, the MUSoD Advisory Council launched a study in order to explore the critical management issues faced by dental practices today. That study ended in 2005 and its findings proved to be interesting. Both professional and personal concerns were cited that reflect changes and implications for:
- the overall satisfaction and sustainability of dental practice
- the impact of business procedures on access to dental care
- the technical, market and economic realm of dental care
- the personal, social and business value of the profession.
Throughout 2006, the Advisory Council worked toward the launch of a Practice Management Program. Based on the study findings, forty areas of course content in practice management and development were discussed for pilot plan review. In early 2007, five prototype courses will be offered as part of the pilot program.
The team that is responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of the pilot program includes both business and dental professionals who bring extensive experience to the program. Our team has a sound vision for dental practice growth, performance and change. This vision is based on a keen sense of the technical, social, personal and economic issues that are driving the evolution of dental practice today.
